River Flood Forecast Indicates Less Severe Flooding This Year

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Tuesday, April 9, 2019

There is some good news in the latest Red River flood forecast.

A colder spring has resulted in less snow-melt, as a result the anticipated flood level has dropped to the level of flooding in 2011.

The latest forecast was released on Tuesday.

The River is expected to crest around 9 meters in the Red River Valley, south of Winnipeg.

In Winnipeg, the River will likely crest at 6 meters.
