Risk of Snow Squalls Southeast of Lake Huron

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Thursday, January 10, 2019

Once again on Thursday there is a risk of snow squalls for areas southeast of Lake Huron.

While not as significant as the recent snowfall event, some snow is expected nonetheless.

Further amounts of 5 cm are possible.

This will cause reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow.

A snow-squall is a sudden moderately heavy snow fall with blowing snow and strong, gusty surface winds. It is often referred to as a whiteout and is similar to a blizzard but is localized in time or in location and snow accumulations may or may not be significant.
