Remnants of Michael will Bring Heavy Rain to Atlantic Canada

The remnants of Michael will send some rain to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and parts of Newfoundland.

Rain will begin on Thursday afternoon in eastern New Brunswick and southern Nova Scotia and to Newfoundland on Friday.

Michael is expected to transition to a post-tropical storm before impacting Atlantic Canada.

Up to 50 mm is possible in eastern New Brunswick. 30 to 50 mm are expected by Friday morning in Southern Nova Scotia, with amounts possibly reaching 70 mm in areas of heaviest rain. Across Northern Nova Scotia lesser amounts are expected.

Heavy rainfall along with high waves and elevated water levels remain a possibility across southern Newfoundland. 20 to 40 mm is possible across southeastern Newfoundland.
