Rare Tornado Hits Near Seattle

A rare tornado touched down near Seattle on Tuesday.

There was damage left behind but no deaths were reported.

The National Weather Service said that the wind was the strongest to hit Washington state since 1986.

Winds were at 209 km/h.

It was given a rating of an EF-2. It struck near Port Orchard.

The National Weather Service said that on average, the state averages 2.5 tornadoes a year. December tornadoes are even more rare, averaging just 0.1 a year.
