Rain for the Northern Prairies

Posted by on Wednesday, June 8, 2016

A surface low developed last night over areas of Northeastern Alberta.

The low brought some much needed rain to Fort McMurray and surrounding areas. In general rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm fell in some areas.

Today the rain will spread into northern Saskatchewan. Additionally, the heat that is been across the Prairies for the past several days will slowly come to an end.

Yesterday a cold front moved into Alberta and brought temperatures down. That same cold front will sweep into Saskatchewan today bringing temperatures down as well.
