Rain for the First Time in 47 Days

Rain can ruin an outing but those living in the U.S. southeast rejoiced on the weekend after areas saw their first rain since Hurricane Matthew.

The drought in the Southeast has worsened quickly in the fall months since September.

Anniston, Alabama went 47 days without any rain. The previous record was 38 days ending July 1, 1988.

In Rome, Georgia there was also 47 days without any precipitation.

Greenville, South Carolina was ran free for 36 days. 

In Charlotte, North Carolina, Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina there was no rain for 35 days.
