On Thursday an area of low pressure off the coast or British Columbia will invade the western Prairies.

Currently we expect snow across Alberta on Thursday afternoon. 10 to 15 centimetres of snow to portions of Central and Northern Alberta.

In southern Saskatchewan some areas may also see mixed precipitation with a risk of freezing rain on Thursday night. This will be combined with strong winds which will cause reduced visibility.

There remains much uncertainty with regards to snowfall amounts.

The morning commute on Friday will most likely be difficult in Alberta.
