Pounding Surf Along Southern Shores of NL

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Friday, October 5, 2018

Tropical Storm Leslie is causing higher than normal water levels and pounding surf along the southeast and southwest coast of Newfoundland.

This will persist through Saturday.

Wave heights may reach between five and six metres.

As a safety precaution, the public is advised to keep away from the shoreline due to the rapid approach of large waves.

These large waves and pounding surf are not expected to cause any damage as tides are not very high.

However, these conditions could cause life-threatening surf and rip currents.
