Potential Tropical Trouble in the Caribbean

The U.S. National Hurricane Center is keeping a close eye on an area of showers and thunderstorms that have developed over the western Caribbean Sea. This area may form into a low pressure system by Monday.

Should the low attain proper characteristics it could become the third named storm of the season. Tropical Storm Colin.

The area will deliver heavy rain over portions of the Yucatan Peninsula, western Cuba and the Florida Peninsula during the next several days.

The area has a low chance of becoming a tropical storm withing 48 hours but a medium chance within the next 5 days.
