The calm and tranquil weather that we have been experiencing over the past week in Newfoundland may come to a halt on Monday and Monday night.

A strong area of low pressure will be just south of Newfoundland on Monday will move over the Island on Monday night bringing heavy snow and strong winds to most of the Island.

Currently it appears as though the Avalon will be the hardest hit area. While there is some uncertainty with regard to the exact track and still a couple days to iron out the fine details, we do expect heavy snow over the Avalon with potential amounts of 20 centimeters at the same time winds may gust near 100 kilometers an hour. In central Newfoundland it will be a similar setup with heavy snow and some strong wind. For the west coast of Newfoundland we will see lesser amounts of snow and some strong wind.

A slight change in the track can change precipitation amounts.
