The "beloved" Polar Vortex isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Over the Prairies long range guidance suggests that a strengthening polar vortex over the eastern Arctic will continue to cause Arctic air to sink south over the Prairies throughout the first week or so of February.

There will be some temperature fluctuations during the event but mostly frigid high's are expected.

A polar vortex is a large pocket of very cold air, typically the coldest air in the Northern Hemisphere, which sits over the polar region during the winter season.
