Over 50 Sinkholes Open in Michigan

Last week in the Upper Midwest heavy rain caused flash flooding.

That flooding has opened more than 50 sinkholes in Michigan. As a result a disaster has been declared.

Several roads were also washed out.

Houghton and Menominee counties in Michigan were declared a disaster by Governor Rick Snyder. 

The area received 100 mm to 150 mm of rain in seven hours.
