The Provincial Minister of Environment, Eddie Joyce, says that government will be enforcing the regulations on oil spills once they have information.

This comes after a aground near Green Island in the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve and spilled oil on Friday.

Tour guides say that they found a three-kilometer-long oil slick in the area.

Oil spills can be devastating for birds in the area.
