October 2018 Second Warmest on Record

The month of October was the second warmest October on record. Only October 2015 was warmer.

Alaska, Siberia and much of eastern Europe experienced temperatures far above the norm.

As of now Earth is still on track to experience the fourth warmest year since records began in 1880.

Parts of central North America, China and Antarctica were colder than average.

October 2018 temperatures averaged 0.86 degrees Celsius above the 20th-century average according to NASA.
