Northwestern Ontario to get Freezing Rain

Posted by on Friday, April 15, 2016

Over Northwestern Ontario rain may change to freezing rain on Saturday as an arctic cold front will slice through the region.
There is a potential for significant freezing rain causing ice accretion.

Many areas may see up to 6 or more hours of freezing rain before changing over to snow.

Seeing such a prolonged period of freezing rain can cause power outages and make driving dangerous. Freezing rain is tough, clings to everything it touches and is more slippery than snow. A little freezing rain is dangerous, a lot can be catastrophic.
