Several schools in Labrador and western Newfoundland are closed for at least the morning as a storm brings snow and gusty wind to the area.

For western Newfoundland, about 10 to 15 cm of snow is likely today and tonight. For the Northern Peninsula East and Port Saunders and the Straits, total snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm are expected.

There are winter storm warnings and blowing snow advisories in eastern/coastal Labrador. In the areas under a winter storm warning, total snowfall accumulations could reach 15 to 20 cm by Thursday morning.

More snow is on the way to Newfoundland and Labrador Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

In Nova Scotia there is also a snow squall watch in effect for Inverness County - Mabou and north and Victoria County. 5 to 10 cm of snow is forecast today.
