Posted by on Thursday, April 21, 2016

In Newfoundland Old Man Winter sure knows to make a comeback.

A low pressure system tracked offshore of Newfoundland on Wednesday. The low sent significant amounts of snow to portions of the Island. Mainly eastern and central sections.

St. John's recorded snowfall totals close to 50 cm. Gander picked up 39 cm, while Corner Brook only received snowfall amounts of 2 cm.

Strong winds also accompanied the low.

Schools on the east coast were closed for the day yesterday, while there are delays in central this morning.

Conditions will gradually improve throughout the day.
