Newfoundland Plunges into Cold Snap

Posted by on Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Spring like temperatures across the province will be taking a break.

We are looking at far below seasonal temperatures this week.

In St. John's the normal high for this time of year is around 5°C, we will struggle to get to the freezing mark today... if we get there at all.

In Gander, we should be at 5.6°C today... the forecast high is -4°C.

Corner Brook is seeking a daytime high of -2°C today. We should be at 6.6°C.

We will see overnight lows plummet into the minus teens.

This is a trend that will continue for some time. However, an area of low pressure will push across the Island on Sunday and bring a brief warm up, and some rain.
