New Years Eve Low for Newfoundland

Posted by on Monday, December 28, 2015

A large low pressure system over the central United States will move just south of Newfoundland on Wednesday, in it's wake a secondary low will span just north of Lake Superior.

The low will gather some strength as it passes over Newfoundland on Thursday.

Snow is expected to begin Thursday afternoon, the snow will later transition to rain. There is a risk of freezing rain especially from Clarenville to Come by Chance.

Although still early on, 5 to 10 cm of snow is possible for some areas.

Winds will not be overly gusty.

Conditions will improve on Friday night into Saturday.
