Muskrat Falls Fire Bigger Than Thought

So far the forest fire at Muskrat Falls is more than 600 hectares in size.

Crews are continuing to battle the blaze that is only 70 per cent contained.

The fire has been burning since last Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. 

Originally, the fire was estimated to be just 225 hectares in size, however new estimates put it at at 609 hectares.

On Sunday, there were two helicopters, two water bombers and 11 fire firefighters on scene.

The fire is still classified as out-of-control.

The forest fire risk is presently low across Labrador.
