A low pressure area currently centered several hundred kilometers south of
Acapulco, Mexico may soon become the next named storm of the Eastern Pacific
Hurricane Season. If it gains enough strength it will be named Sandra.
Showers and thunderstorms have increased and have become more concentrated
Conditions in the area are conducive for additional development. The storm
is expected to become a tropical storm over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Models only indicate the storm getting to a category 1 hurricane. The storm
may make landfall just south of Baja California on Friday.
