More Tropical Activity in Eastern Pacific

Posted by on Monday, November 23, 2015

A low pressure area currently centered several hundred kilometers south of Acapulco, Mexico may soon become the next named storm of the Eastern Pacific Hurricane Season. If it gains enough strength it will be named Sandra.

Showers and thunderstorms have increased and have become more concentrated since yesterday.

Conditions in the area are conducive for additional development. The storm is expected to become a tropical storm over the next 24 to 48 hours.

Models only indicate the storm getting to a category 1 hurricane. The storm may make landfall just south of Baja California on Friday.
