The weather continues to hamper any progress in California.

President Donald Trump has declared a national state of emergency as fires rage on to allow more aid to effected areas.

There are new blazes breaking out in Southern California.

Fires continue to be aided by strong and dry Santa Ana winds.

These conditions are expected to persist through Sunday.

Presently there are 15 thousand homes and businesses threatened. Fires in the state are about 13% contained.

There has been some good news, the Skirball fire, near Bel Air, is 30% contained and as a result some people have been allowed to return home.
