Mixed weather for the Maritime provinces

Posted by on Wednesday, March 9, 2016

A low pressure system will approach the Maritime provinces on Thursday night.

Currently it appears as though New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton Island and central Nova Scotia will receive only snow. Snowfall amounts up to 10 cm are possible. There is a possibility of ice pellets and freezing rain. This includes the city of Halifax. For southern Nova Scotia it looks as though it will be mainly a rain event.

Conditions will improve Friday afternoon as the low bushes are to the east.

This low is not expected to have any impact on Newfoundland and Labrador.
