Mid-Summer Seasonal Update

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Wednesday, August 8, 2018

Summer is halfway over and it has been a hot one for many across the country.

We have seen a never-ending parade of heat warnings. There are also several wild fires burning in many regions of the country.

But what does the rest of the summer look like?

As we head through August and the first half of September it looks like the heat will continue for most areas.

Temperatures will likely be above seasonal for Atlantic Canada, northern Ontario, the Prairies, British Columbia, and most of northern Canada. Temperatures will probably be near normal in Southern Ontario and Quebec.

The only region likely to see below normal temperatures is areas along the eastern shores of Hudson Bay.

Precipitation is expected to remain near normal across the country.
