Measuring Temperature Correctly

Posted by on Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Most of us have a temperature outside our homes. Have you ever noticed your thermometer has a very different reading than the current conditions reported in your area?

Both thermometers may be working correctly, the issue might be where your temperature is.

Thermometers should be placed 1.5 meters above the ground.

Also, put your thermometer in the shade. A thermometer will give a much higher reading than the actual temperature.
Make sure that your thermometer has good air flow around it. The more it is open the better.

When mounting your thermometer place it over a grassy or dirt surface.  Concrete and pavement attract more heat.

Finally, keep the thermometer covered.
