Massive Crack in Huge Greenland Glacier

Posted by on Wednesday, April 19, 2017

NASA has made a shocking discovery. The Petermann Glacier, a massive glacier in Greenland, is showing a huge new crack.

This may cause the structure to break free and set adrift a massive iceberg up to 50 km long.

Back in the summer of 2009 a 250 square kilometre ice island broke off.

Petermann Glacier is a large glacier located in North-West Greenland to the east of Nares Strait. It connects the Greenland ice sheet to the Arctic Ocean near 81 degrees north latitude.
