Man Killed by Lightning in New Brunswick

A man has died after being killed by a lightning strike in New Brunswick.

It happened in the town of Tabusintac, located about 80 km northwest of Bathurst.

On Friday severe thunderstorms moved through the area and around 6:00 pm the man was struck by lightning.

The 50-year-old was taken to hospital according to RCMP and was pronounced dead in hospital.

A home in Moncton was also struck by lightning. The three-story home displaced nine tenants.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
