Low to Impact Atlantic Canada With Mixed Precipitation

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Monday, January 22, 2018

An area of low pressure that is having an impact on Ontario and Quebec on Monday will impact Atlantic Canada Tuesday and Wednesday.

In New Brunswick snow overnight on Monday will spread eastward by Tuesday morning.

Prince Edward Island will see snow on Tuesday morning changing to ice pellets on Tuesday afternoon then to rain overnight Tuesday.

Nova Scotia will briefly see snow change to rain, with a risk of ice pellets during the changeover.

Snow will begin over southwestern Newfoundland Tuesday evening and spread northeastward during the night. Precipitation will begin as snow and then change to ice pellets and then to rain for most areas. The most snow is likely over the Great Northern Peninsula. Most of the rain will fall along the south coast.

In Labrador, snow will begin over western sections on Tuesday evening and then spread to the remainder of Labrador. Southeastern Labrador may see snow change to  ice pellets and then to rain on Wednesday.
