We are closely watching an area of low pressure that is expected to form in the open Atlantic off the eastern coast of the United States on Friday.

Once the low forms it is expected to rapidly intensify and hit the eastern half of Newfoundland on Saturday and Sunday.

Due to the fact that this is still a long way off there remains much uncertainty with regards to intensity and track.

Presently models are split with either snow or a rain-snow mix.

Since this low has yet to form we are not releasing any exact precipitation amounts as of yet. Keep checking back for updates.
