Learn How to Get Active in Our Cold Climate

Canada isn't exactly known for being warm in the Winter.

If you have a plan to get more exercise this year, don't let the weather get in the way!

If it is too cold outdoors, stay indoors. Go for walks at the mall, use a pedometer to count your steps. Get some hand weights or stretch bands to use at home for resistance exercise. Use an online exercise video or a smartphone app. Take the stairs at work. Join a gym.

There are even more fun activities to do outside. Shovel snow, it is a great workout! But be careful if you have heart problems. Try skating, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing. Make sure you dress for cold weather.

Regardless of the weather you can always try healthier food options.
