Japan Rocked by Powerful Earthquake, 30 Dead

A powerful earthquake struck Japan on Thursday, killing at least 30 people and knocking out power to millions, it also caused several landslides.

The earthquake was measured a 6.6.

It struck on the Island of Hokkaido, in the north.

In the City of Sapporo roads were damaged, homes were swiped from their foundations and hills collapsed.

Power has since been restored.

The earthquake comes just after the country was hit by Jebi, its strongest typhoon in 25 years.
