Over 600 firefighters are battling wildfires in Italy that have forced more evacuations in the seaside town of Torre del Greco.

The fire front stretches more than two kilometres and smoke is visible from every point of the Gulf of Naples.

There are at least 100 active fires throughout Campania.

Several homes, hotels and restaurants were all evacuated.

Campania is a region in Southern Italy. The region at the end of 2014 had a population of around 5,869,000 people, making it the third-most-populous region of the country.
