Iowa Sportscaster Killed in Flash Flooding

Major flooding last week in central Iowa claimed the life of a sportscaster.

66-year-old Larry Cotlar was identified by police as the victim of the flash flooding.

Cotlar was the voice of the Drake Bulldogs and Iowa Barnstormers and host/producer of Cotlar and Company on 1350 ESPN Radio, Des Moines.

There were reported power outages and homes and businesses were evacuated.

Authorities say multiple water rescues took place.

An estimated 10 inches of rain fell on Saturday.
