Hurricane Michael has claimed at least 17 lives in the United States and that number is expected to rise as there are still several people missing.

The storm has left behind a part of catastrophic damage on the Florida Panhandle.

Several water rescues have taken place in Virginia after flooding.

Rescue crews continue to search through the damage for more survivors.

Florida Governor Rick Scott said that he has directed FLHSMV to escort cellular service providers to critical areas impacted by Michael.

Hurricane Michael was the strongest tropical cyclone to strike the United States since Andrew in 1992 and the strongest on record in the Florida Panhandle.
