Hundreds Killed in Landslide

At least 254 people have been confirmed dead in the city of Mocoa in southwest Colombia. Hundreds more are still missing.

Rivers burst their banks and sent a wall of water, mud, and debris through the city.

Rescue teams are scouring the area looking for survivors.

Streets are covered in thick sand, mud and tree limbs.

Residents are not without drinking water and have no power, which forced authorities to suspend the search and rescue effort during the night.

Many people are left homeless.
