Humid Weather in Place across PEI and Newfoundland

The humid weather in place across Prince Edward Island will linger until early next week. 

Once again today humidex values reaching 35 are expected.

Newfoundland is also dealing with high humidex values. There are heat warnings in effect for central and most of the Avalon.

Humidex values reaching 36 will be present once again today. Daytime highs near 25 degrees are expected today.

There were high temperature records broken in Newfoundland on Thursday.

Badger set a new record of 30.6. The old record of 28.9 was set in 1963. Records in this area have been kept since 1956 .
La Scie set a new record of 29.7. The old record of 29.0 was set in 1979. Records in this area have been kept since 1977.

Twillingate also set a new record of 28.1. The old record of 26.1 was set in 2008. Records in this area have been kept since 1950.
