Hope Returns for Prairie Crops

Posted by on Tuesday, November 8, 2016

All the news about the harvest in the Prairies lately has been doom and gloom.

However unusually warm temperatures lately are raising farmers’ hopes of a strong finish to the growing season.
Snow last month was believed to mark an end to the harvest, however with temperatures in some cases reaching 20 degrees farmers have resumed harvesting.

Canola crops are insulated in pods and as a result has largely remained viable. However many wheat crops have been damaged.

Warm and dry weather continues across many areas this week in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
