There are hundreds of firefighters fighting a brush fire that has consumed 5,800-acres in the Verdugo Mountains, which are just north of downtown Los Angeles.

Hundreds of homes have been evacuated and several miles of the 210 Freeway have been closed.

This fire is thought to be one of the largest in the history of Los Angeles.

The blaze destroyed three homes in Tujunga, but no injuries were reported.

The fire is only 10% contained.

Weather conditions will not help officials gain control of the fire. Sunshine is expected all week with temperatures near 28°C (near 85°F).
