In the last 30 years high-tide flooding has doubled in the United States according to a new report from NOAA.

A driving factor behind this increase is sea level rise.

The report also indicated that flooding is not just a concern during storms but even during so called "sunny days".

The rate of global mean sea-level rise has accelerated compared to the mean of the 20th century, but the rate of rise is locally variable.
