Heavy Rain & Wind Expected Across Atlantic Canada

An area of low pressure is crossing Atlantic Canada today.

Total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are expected across New Brunswick.

Rainfall amounts are expected to be in the range of 25 to 45 mm, however as much as 60 mm is possible over portions of eastern Nova Scotia. 

Heavy rain is expected across parts of Newfoundland as well. Total rainfall accumulations of 25 to 35 mm are expected, with the highest amounts expected over higher terrain.

Additionally, strong southerly winds are expected Monday. Across the West Coast of Newfoundland winds will gust to 110 km/h. On the Avalon winds gusting to 100 km/h over exposed areas are forecast to develop on Monday evening.

In Labrador, winds gusting near 100 km/h will develop Monday afternoon and persist until midnight Monday night. Some areas may see 20 cm of snow.
