Heavy Rain for the Maritimes

Posted by Kyle Brookings on Tuesday, September 25, 2018

An area of low pressure will deliver some rain to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia on Tuesday evening, continuing through Wednesday and Thursday.

Some areas in southern New Brunswick could receive 50 mm with lesser amounts for western areas.

Rainfall amounts reaching or exceeding rainfall warning levels of 50 mm in 24 hours is possible, mainly for western mainland Nova Scotia, with a lesser risk for the Atlantic Coast of the eastern mainland.

There are indications that maximum rainfall amounts could locally exceed 90 millimetres.

There remains some uncertainty on exact amounts.
