Some wet weather is heading for the Avalon.

A cold front will slowly slice across Newfoundland tomorrow.

At the same time there is a humid airmass to the south that the cold front will tap into.

Southeastern Newfoundland will see heavy rain on Thursday afternoon.

In some areas 50 mm is possible.

At the same time, Environment Canada has issued a tropical cyclone information statement for the Avalon Peninsula Southeast for Tropical Storm Maria.

Rain directly associated with Maria is expected to remain well offshore. However, moisture from Maria may feed into a cold front expected to cross southern Atlantic Canada on Thursday. This could potentially enhance rainfall amounts along the track of this front. Interaction between Maria and this front will be closely monitored in the coming days.
