Heavy Rain and Strong Wind to Start the NL Work Week

A cold front will make its way to Newfoundland and Labrador on Monday night.

The front has a lot of moisture associated with it.

There is the potential that Newfoundland can see some heavy rain and strong winds from this event.

Forecast from Monday to Tuesday

Rainfall Forecast
  • St. John's: 20 to 30 mm
  • Marystown: 25 to 35 mm
  • Gander: 5 to 10 mm
  • Corner Brook: 20 to 25 mm
  • Channel-Port aux Basques: 10 to 20 mm
  • St. Anthony: 15 to 25 mm

Wind Gust Forecast
  • St. John's: 80 km/h
  • Marystown: 80 km/h
  • Gander: 80 km/h
  • Corner Brook: 90 km/h
  • Channel-Port aux Basques: 110 km/h
  • St. Anthony: 100 km/h

As the front departs the Avalon on Wednesday, an area of low pressure will creep up on eastern portions of the province shortly after bringing more rain.
