Heavy Rain and Mountain Snow for Pacific Northwest

Posted by on Saturday, January 30, 2016

A cold front will move across the western U.S. on Saturday bringing snow to higher terrain with rain in the valleys.

However, snow levels will drop as the front passes, and precipitation will mix with or change to snow even in most valleys in the interior western U.S. by late Saturday.

The frontal boundary will stall across the Four Corners region on Sunday as another upper-level disturbance approaches the region.

This will prolong precipitation across the southwestern U.S. and the Four Corners region through Sunday. Heavy snow is possible across portions of the Cascades, Sierras, as well as across portions of the Rockies.
