In Quebec 34 people have died from extreme heat.

Montreal's health department reported 18, and seven have been reported in the Eastern Townships.

The extreme heat began on June 29.

On Thursday humidex values once again soared between 40 and 45.

Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante says that it is team effort for residents to knock on doors just to see if the person is okay.
Temperatures are expected to drop today.

Montreal is expected to drop to just 23 degrees, while Quebec City will climb to just 19.
