The Norwegian military says that a navy frigate collided with an oil tanker on the country's western coast on Thursday.

There is a concern that the frigate may sink. Officials say that there is a large hole in the ship. All 137 crew members were evacuated.

Eight people on the KNM Helge Instad were injured.

The ship is in the water on its side, the stern is underwater.

The 134-meter long frigate is part of a NATO fleet in the Atlantic.

Some 10,000 liters of helicopter fuel from the frigate has leaked into the sea.
