Four Killed From Typhoon Megi

Four people have been killed and hundreds more are injured in Taiwan as Typhoon Megi bears down on the region.

The storm brought heavy rains and damaging winds, a peak wind gust of 155 km/h was recorded in Hualien City. In Taichung City there was a wind gust of 198 km/h.

In some areas almost 800 mm of rain has fallen.

Millions of residents are without electricity and 72,000 households are without water.

Typhoon Megi is the third typhoon to hit in nation in two weeks.
