The flooding situation in British Columbia is not getting much better.

Over the next few days we will see showers and thunderstorms.

Some areas will receive another 20 to 40 mm range by late in the day on Friday.

Today we will see showers over the Kootenays and it will spread west into the Okanagan Valley this afternoon. Embedded thunderstorms and the continued risk of heavy downpours are possible in these areas.

All the warm and wet weather is causing snow to melt more rapidly.

Residents are quickly assembling sandbags around homes and businesses.
