New Brunswick is contending with major flooding.

The St. John River continues to rise, it has forced several people from their homes and the Office of Emergency Management is encouraging more people to leave their homes.

Any home that are near the water should be evacuated immediately.

1,900 residents along parts of St. John River are encouraged to flee.

There is a concern that floodwaters could reach 5.8 metres.

More than 100 roads, bridges and culverts have been affected.
