Federal Government to Eliminate Plastic from Operations

Federal government operations are about to get greener.

Ottawa has announced that they will be gradually eliminating plastic waste from government operations.

The announcement was made at the G7 ministers meeting on Thursday. 

Minister Catherine McKenna said the federal government will no longer use "unnecessary plastics" in it operations.

By the year 2030 the federal government plans to reduce plastic waste by 75 percent.
